Terms + Conditions

Please carefully read the below Terms and Conditions before consenting.

Terms and Conditions are effective from April 2024.

Booking

Tails of the trails will confirm all dog walking and pet sitting bookings with the Client.

Services require booking a minimum of 7 days prior.

Should unforeseen circumstances arise, the agreed service may be cancelled or rescheduled.

Tails of the trails reserves the right to cancel and/or amend services and will endeavour to provide 7 days notice.

Once a service has been agreed, an initial consultation will occur with the Client.

Tails of the trails reserves the right to refuse or withhold a service with no prior notice.

Bank Holidays

The Client accepts that all services scheduled that coincide with British Bank Holidays will incur an additional charge.

Cancellations

A minimum of 7 days notice is required to amend, reschedule or cancel a service booked. The Client accepts that without the minimum cancellation notice Tails of the Trails reserves the right to refuse refunds and/or provide an alternative service.

The Client agrees that Tails of the Trails will endeavour to accommodate rearranged services where possible but cannot guarantee availability. 

Behavioural Issue

The Client is solely responsible for any and all harm or damage caused by their pet while under the care of Tails of the Trails or is using any other services provided by Tails of the Trails, and agrees to indemnify Tails of the Trails in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.

The Client agrees that, in admitting their dog, Tails of the Trails has relied on the Client’s representation that their dog is in good health and has not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behaviour toward any person or any other dog.

All dogs will be subject to an initial assessment by Tails of the Trails staff prior to using Tails of the Trails. Tails of the Trails will continue to carefully monitor the behaviour and temperament of all animals within their care. Tails of the Trails reserves the right to refuse admission to any pet deemed in their absolute discretion to be, or have the potential to be, dangerous or disruptive.

The Client agrees to notify Tails of the Trails immediately of any unwelcome, aggressive, procreative, or dangerous behaviour of their dog that has potential to cause harm to any other dog or individual.

Tails of the Trails offer services where dogs co-mingle in groups and the Client accepts that during the course of normal dog play their dog may sustain injuries. All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury, but scratches, punctures, torn ligaments, or other injuries may occur despite the best supervision.

Tails of the Trails reserves the right to refuse admission if the Client fails to provide adequate proof of vaccinations (including Bordetella), or the vaccinations are found to be expired.

Intact male dogs require assessment from Tails of the Trails staff prior to services agreed.

Tail of the Trails reserves the right to amend or alter services for bitches in season or pregnant.

Bitches may not attend group Tails of the Trails services when in season or pregnant.

The Client accepts that even though their dog is vaccinated against Bordetella (Kennel Cough) their dog can still contract Kennel Cough. The Client agrees that they will not hold Tails of the Trails responsible if their dog contracts Kennel Cough while attending.

The Client agrees to take any necessary measures or precautions to ensure that their dog is continuously free of contagious, infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases. The Client further agrees to notify Tails of the Trails immediately of any infectious and/or contagious disease or conditions their dog has been exposed to or is affected by. Such diseases and conditions include, but are not limited to: Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough (Bordetella), Parvovirus, Corona virus, worms, Lyme disease, Fleas, Pregnancy, Infectious Skin Diseases and Intestinal Parasites. Tails of the Trails reserves the right to refuse admission until satisfied that the condition is resolved.

The Client consents to their dog being photographed, videotaped, and/or used in any media or advertising by Tails of the Trails without prior approval. All such media remain the property of Tails of the Trails.

Pet Information

It is the responsibility of the Clients to provide Tails of the Trails with all relevant pet information and is the Clients responsibility to update such information.

This includes, but is not limited to, pet vaccination dates, records and medical issues.

Key Release

In a Clients absence Tails of the Trails will access the property of the Client as instructed.

The Client agrees that, by signing the key holder waiver form this will indemnify Tails of the Trails in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to the property or its contents, in present and future circumstances.

All keys will be held safely and securely by Tails of the Trails.

In the event that a key is misplaced or lost, Tails of the Trails will inform Clients within 24 hours and a new key will be provided by the Clients.

Upon completion of a service all household keys will be returned to the Client and a 'Confirmation of Return' form will be required.

Safety and Security

Clients are required to inform Tails of the Trails of any known safety or security issues that arise during the length of service provided.

It is the responsibility of the Clients to inform Tails of the Trails of all occupants of the household and advise when a member of the household will be home during drop off/collection/pet sits.

It is the responsibility of Clients to ensure their pet is appropriately microchipped in compliance with the law.

All Clients using services provided by Tails of the Trails are required to provide an appropriate collar and acompanying identification tag.

It is the responsibility of Clients to inform Tails of the Trails to any home security precautions and relevant password/home security codes.

Tails of the Trails will only let dogs off the lead once an ‘Off lead Consent' has been signed, and will remain at the discretion of Tails of the Trails.

The Client agrees to ensure their dog has not eaten in the hour before pick up by Tails of the Trails to ensure sufficient time to digest food before any exercise or play. Failure to do so may result in the potentially life-threatening condition Bloat (Gastric Torsion).

Insurance

Tails of the Trails has full comprehensive insurance cover including public liability, professional indemnity, key cover and care, custody and control.

It is the sole responsiblity of the Client to provide individual pet insurance.

Privacy

All information collected by Tails of the Trails will remain confidential and be retained in accordance with both GDPR and ICO regulations.

Third parties will not have access to any information submitted to Tails of the Trails.

Medication

It is the responsibility of the Clients to provide clear information to Tails of the Trails regarding pet medication.

Tails of the Trails will follow all administration instructions as provided by the Clients.

Tails of the Trails reserves the right to refuse medication administration.

Should a pet have a contagious illness, Tails of the Trails will be unable to accomidate group services and alternative arrangements will be agreed should they be suitable and subject to availability.

Tails of the Trails advise all Clients to discuss relevant vaccinations and immunisations with their vet.

Collar/Leads/ID Tags

The Client agrees that Tails of the Trails is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with their dog.

All damaged or lost equipment will be reported to the Client within 24 hours.

Household Cleanliness

Tails of the Trails will clean after pets to the best of their ability.

It is the responsibility of the Client to advice Tails of the Trails where cleaning supplies can be located.

Tails of the Trails are not responsible for any property or home damage caused by your pet. This includes, but is not limited to, floor or carpet stains and furniture damages.

Payment

All bookings must be placed a minimum of 7 days prior to the scheduled date of completion.

Payments for agreed services must be paid in full no later than the Sunday before a service is scheduled.

Tails of the Trails reserves the right to amend banking information.

All services rescheduled or cancelled outside of Tails of the Trails cancellation policy will not be subject to a refund.

The Client is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that their dog receives while under the care of Tails of the Trails, together with any associated costs e.g. call-out charges. The Client authorises the staff of Tails of the Trails to seek such veterinary advice and/or treatment as they deem necessary; where possible this will be carried out by the Client’s usual/preferred Vet, but this cannot be guaranteed (e.g. in an emergency) and the Client accepts that the staff of Tails of the Trails may at their discretion use any registered Vet. The Client agrees to pay all such costs immediately upon pick-up of their dog, or by agreement with the proprietor.

Weather

Tails of the Trails reserves the right to amend services agreed to comply with the health and wellbeing of the pets within the care of Tails of the Trails depending on the weather.

Dogs will be walked in all weather conditions and Clients accept that Tails of the Trails is not responsible for the cleanliness of the dogs.

Tails of the Trails refuse to walk dogs in weather above the temperatures appopriate for their breed. Tails of the Trails will monitor the weather and offer alternative services and scheduling accordingly.

No variation of these Terms and Conditions will have effect unless confirmed by Tails of the Trails in writing.
